a wild spring and a book list
This past month in our house, there was a stomach flu, two respiratory virus, a broken bone, and multiple overnight trips. It felt like spring can…wild, a little manic, splashed with color and beautiful things that happen so quickly it’s easier to miss them than not. Paid subscribers, I’m making something real sweet for you next week, can’t wait!
All to say…I’ve been drafting writing in my head and then as quickly as it forms it is blown away by the next thing needing attention. So with that in mind in the spirit of lying under the warm sun I’ll share a few things that hold the shape for me right now:
All of It Singing, poems by Linda Gregg, these are a Spring standby for me. Poignant, alive, and effortless.
Laurel Braitman’s new book, What Looks Like Bravery. This book feels like an epic odyssey and exactly like an ordinary life. The writing is so tender and well crafted. Get yourself some long drives and get into it.
A lot of rosewate.…between meetings, before bed, upon waking, in the food, in the bath, on the babies heads.
Lilac watch 2023, as of today a few have bloomed. I check throughout the day to see when, if, and how delicious it will smell when they explode. Stay tuned please…..
Baby cuties, also referred to as the seeds that I started a few weeks ago. C and I water and sing to them everyday. Mostly she sings the wheels on the bus to them and you know it’s not a bad song…
Do you all like recipes and would you be interested in me sharing some?
