This week and last week have been overwhelming. I am sitting with the reality that my skin feel feels alive, almost raw. The world feels catastrophic both in ways that are personal and in ways that we hold collectively that stretch out in all directions of time and space.
There is a lot of pain.
There is a lot of pain.
I can’t really begin without acknowledging that and know that I am calling for a ceasefire, calling for aid, calling for reflection, discernment, and recognition of the huge grief.
And my dreams have been about earthquakes, about fires, about the magnitude of the current of uncertainty that runs through my body but I am sure yours too.
I want to begin writing by naming all of that.
And I want to thank so many of you for reaching out from the last time I wrote with sketches of offerings. Here is what you said:
You said you can’t wait for energy work and you want to know more! It’s coming, likely beginning in winter but I’ll keep telling you about and letting you know how and when you can participate.
You said you want to read together! How thrilling for me, I’ll share the dates of the November bookclub soon. We’ll be reading Inciting Joy, Ross Gay’s book of essays. It feels like the serum we need as we navigate this complex world. November will be for everyone and then it will move into a place for paid subscribers.
You said you want to write, to make art, to cook, to touch what is creative and enlivening and you want support in doing it! I love this and I’m crafting a few new ways we can do this together. I can’t wait. I’d love to do this in person as well as online. If you are in the Bay Area orSonoma County and would like to do this with me, drop a line and I’ll make sure to reach out specifically for these opportunities to craft worlds together!
In the meantime, today I hope you are calling in and on those supports that are there for you. I know many of you know them and name them often but if you don’t I suggest looking down at your feet on the ground and up at the sky. Notice how you are held in between. Notice how precious you are in your body. May you be filled with love.
